As a swift action, you may choose one target within sight to smite. If this target matches the smite's type, you add your Cha bonus (if any) to your attack rolls and your class level (if the smite is from a class) or character level (if the smite is from another effect) to all damage rolls made against the target of her smite. Smite attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess.

In addition, while smite evil is in effect, you gain a deflection bonus equal to your Charisma modifier (if any) to your AC against attacks made by the target of the smite. The smite effect remains until the target of the smite is dead or the next time you regain your use of this ability.

If you targets a creature that does not match the smite's type, the smite is wasted with no effect.
