You are trained at working with animals, and can teach them tricks, get them to follow your simple commands, or even domesticate them.
Handle an Animal[edit]
This task involves commanding an animal to perform a task or trick that it knows.
Task | DC |
---|---|
Normal | 10 |
If the animal is wounded or has taken any nonlethal damage or ability score damage | 12 |
Success: The animal performs the task or trick on its next action.
Failure: Your move action is wasted.
Trained Uses
Requires at least 1 rank in Animal Ken.
Calm an Animal[edit]
You can attempt to calm an animal that would otherwise try to flee a dangerous or stressful situation with a DC 20 Animal Ken check. This includes controlling a mount not trained for combat riding while in battle.
Success: The animal is calmed and will respond to your commands (as normal).
Failure: You fail to calm the animal. If you are mounted or otherwise control the animal, you can take a standard action to prevent it from fleeing, but nothing else.
Push an Animal[edit]
To push an animal means to get it to perform a task or trick that it doesn’t know but is physically capable of performing. This category also covers making an animal perform a forced march or forcing it to hustle for more than 1 hour between sleep cycles.
Task | DC |
---|---|
Normal | 25 |
If the animal is wounded or has taken any nonlethal damage or ability score damage | 27 |
Success: The animal performs the task or trick on its next action.
Failure: Your move action is wasted.
