Combat Training
If this is your first level in a class that grants combat training get the following benefits:
First you may choose either Wisdom or Intelligence as your practitioner modifier.
You also gain either the Berserker or the Shield Fighter feat as a bonus feat.
Finally you get the Mercenary weapon and armor proficiencies listed in the header.

Shield Fighter: Uses a shield and one-handed weapon along with a range of combat maneuvers.

Feats
You gain three combat feats.
Shield Fighter:
Pick the feats Redirecting Shield, Brute Fighter, and Powerful Maneuvers.
If this is your first character level you gain another bonus feat of no specific type. Use it to pick Weapon Focus feat for your chosen weapon.
Equipment
Starting Gold: 175 gold pieces
Gear Packages:
- longsword, heavy steel shield, shortbow w. 20 arrows, scale mail armor and 55 gold pieces, or
- warhammer, heavy wooden shield, chainmail armor and 2 gold pieces, or
- battleaxe, heavy wooden shield, 5 javelins, chain shirt and 49 gold pieces or
- greatsword, light crossbow w. 10 bolts, scale mail armor and 35 gold pieces
and a traveler's outfit, a backpack, a belt pouch, and a whetstone.
Use 6 gold pieces if you wish to purchase a trail package.
Use 15 gold pieces if you wish to purchase a dungeoneering package.
