The kingdom of Wodstra ruled an area in Annyria stretching from the Principality of Thiel to the Dragonrun river.

The first king of the line gathered his kingdom around -123 EC, and the kingdom expanded over the next century to its widest extent around -24 EC. From 48-54 EC Dranos the Great conquered the kingdom, destroying their last army in 54 EC and subsequently pursuing and destroying their nobility and priesthoods as the territory was incorporated into the empire.

Before their destruction they followed their own gods, and the nobility worshipped Khilo, The Storm King. Shortly before the founding of Wodstra, Khilo had blessed a number of warriors and it was these and their descendants that came to be the nobility and kings of the kingdom. The blessed blood of Khilo was a requirement for noble titles, and could be validated through ritual by the priesthood.

Among Khilo's, and thus the nobility's, values was the principle of rulership through terror. In times of crisis they would be seized by fervor and pursue terror and torture heavily to attempt to assure the loyalty of their subjects.

In social settings the nobility would wear togas over their normal clothing, while the priesthood would cover themselves in artificial darkness.

King Ewald was known as the Ebon Overlord, and was the last king of Wodstra. He was of great physique, but merciless, often arranging for rituals involving torture in the honor of Khilo. He was fair, but any disloyalty or failing could end you in the torture rack. He was offered by Dranos the Great to join the Capacian empire as a subject in much the same way as Athasia (though given his realm he would have had much greater power), but refused leading the the kingdom's downfall. In 54 EC when his armies were destroyed he fled into the Dragondeep Forest, where he ended up dying of his wounds in the Fort of Wyrmwatch and was buried in the dungeons underneath.

Unbeknownst to most, the goddess Draga was in his captivity at the time, having betrayed him, and was confined in the fort's prison.

Today those people of Annyria that still remember them refer to the ruling class of the kingdom of Wodstra as "The Black Terror". Though given that they fell 300 years ago, most references are either legend or in the work of sages.
