The City > The Bazaar

Header the bazaar.webp

A large roofed market in which you can find basically anything.

The Bazaar district is dominated by The Bazaar itself, a large roofed market built against the old city wall. Along the northern and eastern edges of the district lies a warren of warehouses servicing the many shops of the bazaar. However, an even greater amount of storerooms exist underground, where goods are stockpiled long term for The City's travel across the planes.

Locations of Note

Plaza of Shadows

Towards the center of the bazaar lies a sunlit plaza planted with greenery. The place is open to the public, but is avoided by many due to its reputation. The master of the bazaar, the devil Drulgathag, has his offices here, as well as a number of nefarious establishments.

Rumors are that the Remembrance Of Highgarden would much like to take out the place, as well as its ruler, but have been unable to find a way to do so.

  • The Old Man's Rest: A large coffee shop with a number of private rooms. Drulgathag does much of his business from here, and others seeking to make less than moral deals are also said to frequent the place. The fact that the place is always close to full might be disheartening to some people.
  • The Deep Den: A drug den adjacent to the square. There are a few rooms above ground, but most of the deep den is in cellars below ground.
  • Amber Heart Company: A high-skilled groups of operatives for hire. Though occasionally hired for missions in the outer world, such as acquiring artifacts or freeing imprisoned Citizens, they are most known for the assassination and heist work performed inside The City.

Yellow Brick Lane

A wide corridor in The Bazaar along which lies some of the most well-known shops of the market. Named for the yellow tiles lining the floor and walls.

  • Sibylle's: Once an inhabitant of the Green Fields, Sibylle (f, human) now runs one of the most prestigious shops of armor and weaponry in The City, selling goods gathered from multiple different worlds, as well as produced by some of the best craftsmen and -women in The City.
  • Valerio's Vision: A relative newcomer to The City, Valerio (m, human) is an emigre from one of the merchant republics of The Grey Peaks. He has spent no time establishing himself in The City, and now runs a shop of exotic wares and curios. Spices, jewelry, rare foods and convenient magic items. Everything here will help you live your best life, and has a price to match.

Green Jewel Inn

Located at the edge of the Bazaar, this inn is owned by an immigrant from the Mamirae Empire. Basharn (human, m) has recreated a small slice of his native tropical culture in the form of a merchant's inn. Welcoming all travelers (that can pay) the inn offers good (though to most, exotic) food and excellent service from Basharn and his four daughters, but no alcohol or other drugs.

Tunnel of Dreams

At the western end of the bazaar, a tunnel has been magically created through the old city wall, creating a direct way between Graygardens and The Bazaar. Though only passable by foot traffic it is rarely empty, and at certain times crowding prevents easy passage.
